In the auditorium of the “Disney Newport Bay Club”, of particular interest was the speech by Ciro Esposito, CEO of the European Society of Pediatric Laparoscopy (ESPES) and the American Society of Pediatric Surgery (IPEG). Esposito illustrated the daily activity in the role of primary Complex Operating Unit of Pediatric Surgery of Federico II, with a focus on the use of the robot in the operating room. An element that has numerous advantages, including the possibility of performing long interventions and a final outcome with much smaller scars. Once the initial investment has been overcome, very high-level training is needed, in which Naples is at the forefront.
The congress also laid the foundations for a future in which science will be disseminated with increasingly effective tools. Capable of making even the most complex concepts understandable and attractive. The partnership with the Web Company “USB”, the digital development partner of the event, fits into this direction. This collaboration has marked a real change of pace in the way of thinking about scientific communication and dissemination. Thanks to the innovative dissemination, communication and marketing tools 4.0 offered by USB, a new path has opened up for the future of science, where the boundaries between digital technology and scientific communication are becoming increasingly thin. There has been extensive discussion about how these tools will evolve, integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence to make scientific information increasingly accessible and engaging.
The congress was characterized by the presence of experts of particular scientific value. Speakers included: Juan Carlos De Augustin Asensio (Madrid, ESPES President); Jose Luis Peiro (Cincinnati USA, Chief of Cincinnati Fetal Surgery Center); Philippe Montupet (Paris, Secretary of the Accademie Francais de Chirurgie); Martin Lacher (Leipzig Germany, Chief of EUPSA Educational Office); Thomas Blanc (Paris France, President of European society of pediatric Robotics); Isabela Draghici (Bucharest Romania, President-elect ESPES).
